What happens if my H-1B visa extension is denied while I’m still in the U.S.?

You can stay during the 240-day grace period if your extension was filed before the prior visa expired.

If the denial comes after expiration, you must stop working immediately and either leave or change status.

You can file a motion to reopen or a new petition if the reason for denial is correctable.
