What is the US deportation process?

Deportation proceedings begin with a Notice to Appear (NTA) from immigration authorities.

The individual will attend a hearing before an immigration judge.

The judge will determine whether the individual is eligible for relief or deportation.

If deported, the individual must leave the US or face removal.

In some cases, individuals may be eligible for appeal or post-deportation relief.
