The thing is I enter the U.S. with a J-1 visa, but it has a 2 years home residency requirement. Is there way to waive it?

Yes, you can apply for a waiver of the 2-year home residency requirement through several options like No Objection Statement, persecution, or exceptional hardship.

Yeah, you can try for a waiver—stuff like hardship, persecution, or a no objection statement might work.

Yes, you can apply for a waiver through a No Objection Statement, U.S. government request, hardship to a U.S. citizen spouse/child, or fear of persecution. I know someone who did via fear of persecution.
