So I came to the U.S. on a tourist visa, but now I want to stay. What do I need to do? Some friends have suggested a couple of things, but I want to get other opinion. Thanks.

This can be very tricky. Best bet is to speak with an immigration lawyer. They have some good ones here.

You can file a form to extend your stay for six more months, but if you want to stay permanently, you need to adjust your status.
