Should I downgrade from EB‑2 to EB‑3 for faster green‑card priority‑date movement, and what are the trade‑offs?

Downgrading can shave months off if EB‑3 dates are ahead, but you’ll likely face longer I‑140 processing and pay duplicate fees.

Do it only if you’re current in EB‑3; otherwise you risk two queues, extra attorney work, and possible RFEs on job level.

Keep EB‑2 and file a concurrent EB‑3 I‑140 (“inter‑filing”); you gain flexibility without abandoning the original priority date.
