My child was born in the U.S., but I am undocumented. I just want to know, does my child citizenship help me get legal status?

Having a U.S. citizen child does not automatically grant you legal status, but they may sponsor you for a green card when they turn 21.

Not right away, but maybe when they’re 21—they can sponsor you then.

Not at all. At least not until they’re 21 like Priya said.
