Is the green card process faster if you already have a work visa? Or does it still take years?

I don’t think having a work visa necessarily makes the green card process super fast. It really depends on things like your employer’s sponsorship and how long the backlog is for your category. Even with a work visa, you might still be waiting

I’ve seen situations where people with work visas felt like their green card process moved faster, but it’s not guaranteed. Sometimes it helps if your employer has all the paperwork sorted quickly, but it can still take years because of priority dates

Honestly, it’s hit or miss. Just having a work visa doesn’t mean you’ll breeze through the green card process—it’s all about timelines, country quotas, and how proactive your employer is.

In my experience, being on a work visa made things smoother, but not exactly faster. There’s still so much that depends on your category and the backlog for people from your country. It can definitely still take a while
