I'm a U.S. employer and I want to sponsor my Canadian student for a work visa. What is the process?

File Form I-129, to sponsor the foreign national for a work visa, such as an H-1B or L-1B visa

Obtain a labor certification from the U.S. Department of Labor to demonstrate that there are no qualified U.S. workers for the job

Provide documentation of the foreign national's qualifications, including their education, experience, and skills

You need to pay the required, fees for the visa petition and submit supporting documents, such as the foreign national's passport and a copy of the labor certification

Comply with prevailing wage requirements to ensure the foreign national is paid a fair wage for their work
