I overstayed my visa by a few months. Can I still adjust my status?

It depends. If you’re married to a U.S. citizen or qualify for an exception, you may adjust status. Otherwise, overstaying can affect eligibility. Consult an immigration attorney.

Immediate relatives of U.S. citizens can often adjust status despite an overstay. Others may face issues. Consult an attorney.
