As a U.S. citizen, you can file Form I-130 for your brother, but wait times are long—often over 10 years, depending on his country of origin.

You can sponsor your brother by filing Form I-130, but sibling visas have long wait times—often over 10 years depending on the country.

To bring your brother to the U.S., file Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, to establish your relationship. As a U.S. citizen over 21, you’re eligible to sponsor siblings. Processing times vary, and visa availability depends on your brother’s country of origin. Check the U.S. Department of State’s Visa Bulletin for current wait times.
