Hmmmm.... So I overstayed my visa by six months. Will this affect my ability to apply for a green card?

Yes, overstaying six months can trigger a 3-year reentry bar if you leave. If adjusting status in the U.S., you may still qualify. My advise? Just talk to an immigration attorney first!
