If someone’s H-1B application didn’t get picked, is there still a way forward for them this year?

Try Cap-Exempt H-1B Jobs as Universities, nonprofits, and research institutions can sponsor H-1Bs year-round and are not subject to the lottery.

If on F-1 OPT, students may qualify for a 24-month STEM extension or bridge to another work status.

Depending on nationality and qualifications, options like O-1 (extraordinary ability), TN (Canada/Mexico), or L-1 (intra-company transfer) may work.

Pursuing further education (e.g., master’s or PhD) can extend F-1 status and provide another chance at the H-1B.
