Can I apply for a green card through my job?

Employment-based green cards are available in several preference categories (EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, etc.), depending on your skills, education, and experience.

For most green card jobs, the employer needs to go through the PERM labor certification process, proving no qualified U.S. workers are available for the position.

Your employer usually must file a petition (Form I-140) on your behalf.

If your employer withdraws the petition early, you may lose eligibility, though some protections exist after 180 days.
