As an F-1 visa holder, you are generally not allowed to work off-campus during your first year of study. However, after completion of one academic year, you may be eligible for off-campus employment through the Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT)

To work off-campus, you'll need to obtain authorization from your school's international student office and apply for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
