I’ve been married to a U.S. citizen for two years but haven’t applied for a green card yet—will that delay hurt my chances?

No, delaying your green card application after being married to a U.S. citizen for two years will not necessarily hurt your chances

If you apply for a green card and are approved before your second anniversary of marriage, you will receive a conditional green card valid for two years.

If your green card is approved after your second anniversary, you may be eligible for a permanent, 10-year green card directly, provided your marriage is still valid.

It might raise questions, but it won’t automatically hurt your chances. Just be ready to explain the delay clearly and honestly when you apply.
