I’m from Yemen and currently in Illinois on Temporary Protected Status (TPS). I’ve been offered a job that requires travel to another state. Am I allowed to work and travel freely within the U.S. on TPS?

Yes, individuals with TPS are allowed to work legally in the U.S. as long as they have a valid Employment Authorization Document (EAD). You can work for any employer in any state.

TPS does not limit your movement within the United States. You’re free to travel between states for work, as long as your TPS status and work permit are valid and unexpired.

Even though TPS provides work authorization, you must ensure your employer verifies your EAD as part of the I-9 employment eligibility process. No additional travel permissions are needed for domestic travel.
