I’m from Turkey and I recently received admission to a U.S. school, but my funding is not yet secured. Tuition and living costs are my main concern right now. I want to know if international students like me can access study loans in the United States, whether a U.S. co-signer is required, and what alternatives exist if traditional student loans are not available.

Most U.S. federal student loans are not available to international students.

Some private lenders offer student loans to international students, but they usually require a U.S. citizen or permanent resident co-signer. Interest rates and approval terms can vary widely.

If loans are not an option, you can explore scholarships, school-based payment plans, or partial funding letters. Some universities allow deferred payment or installment plans after enrollment. You may also consider funding from home-country banks or international education loan providers.
