I’m from India. I’m currently on OPT after finishing my Master’s in the U.S. I have a job and I’m living in Texas. I want my parents to visit me for a few weeks later this year. They’ve never been to the U.S. before. Can they apply for a tourist (B-2) visa? If yes, do I need to send them any documents from my side? Will it be a problem that I’m on OPT and not a green card holder yet? Thanks in advance.

Yes, your parents can apply for a B-2 tourist visa to visit you in the U.S. while you are on OPT. There is no requirement for you to be a green card holder.

Yes, your parents can apply for a B-2 visa. You can send an invitation letter and proof of your status. Being on OPT isn’t a problem.

Your parents can apply for a B-2 tourist visa, and as an OPT holder, you can support their application by providing documents like your employment letter, pay stubs, and bank statements to prove your financial stability
