I’m from Afghanistan, and I’m currently in the United States on a temporary visa. Due to ongoing instability and serious safety concerns back home, returning is not a realistic or safe option for me. I want to understand what legal pathways might allow me to change my temporary stay into something more permanent. What options should I explore, and what steps should I take now to protect my future in the U.S.?

You may be eligible for humanitarian-based options depending on your situation. Speaking with an immigration attorney as soon as possible is very important.

Some people can adjust status through family, employment, or special protection programs. Eligibility depends heavily on your current visa and personal history.
