I am from Sierra Leone and recently applied for a U.S. fiancé(e) visa. We are trying to plan our next steps together and want to know how long it usually takes before we are scheduled for the visa interview. What should we realistically expect?

Fiancé(e) visa processing times vary, but interviews are typically scheduled several months after USCIS approves the petition.

After approval, the case is sent to the National Visa Center and then forwarded to the U.S. embassy handling Sierra Leone cases. This transfer and scheduling process can take a few additional months.

Delays can happen due to background checks, embassy workload, or missing documents. You should regularly monitor your case status and ensure all required documents are ready. Planning with flexibility is important, as exact interview dates are hard to predict.
