You can work two jobs on an H-1B visa, but only if both employers have filed and received approval for separate H-1B petitions on your behalf. You are not automatically allowed to take a second job just because you have an H-1B visa. Each employer must go through the process of sponsoring you for the specific position they want you to work in.

Under U.S. immigration law, an H-1B worker may engage in concurrent employment if each employer files a separate Form I-129 petition for the individual and the petitions are approved by USCIS. The terms and conditions of employment, including job duties, wages, and worksite location, must comply independently with H-1B regulations for each employer. Unauthorized employment outside the scope of the approved petitions may result in a status violation.

Yes, but with conditions. If you want to take a second job while on H-1B status, the second employer must file a concurrent H-1B petition and receive USCIS approval before you begin working for them. You cannot legally work for a second employer on your current H-1B without this step. It’s important to ensure both jobs comply with wage, duty, and location requirements.
