After entering the United States legally and complying with my visa terms, unexpected personal and financial challenges have caused me to fall out of status by about two weeks. I recently heard people talking about Notices to Appear and deportation, which has made me anxious and unsure of my next steps. I want to understand how serious this situation is, what risks I may be facing right now, and whether there are any immediate options to protect myself.

Being out of status, even briefly, can trigger immigration consequences, but it does not automatically mean deportation. Speaking with an immigration attorney quickly can help assess risks and possible remedies.

An NTA is a formal document that starts removal proceedings, and it should never be ignored.

Acting promptly to understand your options may help reduce long term immigration damage.
