What happens if my green card is approved but I am outside the United States?

You may need to go through consular processing to receive your immigrant visa and re-enter the U.S.

If you had Advance Parole, you might still be able to re-enter with that until your green card is issued.

In some cases, USCIS may mail your green card to your U.S. address and you can use it to return.
