What happens if I’m denied asylum in the U.S.?

If you’re in removal proceedings, you may be ordered deported, but you can appeal the decision to the Board of Immigration Appeals.

If your application was denied affirmatively and you're not in lawful status, your case may be referred to an immigration court for further review.

If asylum is denied, you may be placed in removal proceedings and could face deportation, but you might be eligible to apply for other forms of relief or appeal the decision
