After renunciation, the individual loses all rights associated with U.S. citizenship, including the right to vote in federal elections, hold a U.S. passport, and receive consular protection as a U.S. national. Future travel to the United States may require a visa or authorization under applicable visa programs. The decision is permanent and should not be made without careful consideration.

You basically lose all the rights you once had when you were a citizen, like the right to vote during elections.
