USCIS is using the 2022 version of the public charge rule, which is less strict than previous versions under past administrations.

The affidavit of support (Form I-864) filed by your sponsor is a major factor. If your sponsor earns 125% of the federal poverty level or more, you’re less likely to be considered a public charge.

USCIS is more lenient with children, pregnant women, and those with disabilities or health conditions needing treatment.

As long as your sponsor has steady income (or you add a joint sponsor), most family-based applicants are approved without issue.
