What happens if I get divorced before the interview?

The green card is based on the marriage, so if you're divorced before the interview, USCIS may cancel or deny your case.

If the marriage was real but ended, you may still be eligible to apply for a waiver and continue the process on your own.

You cannot attend the interview with your ex, so USCIS will be alerted that the marriage ended.
