What happens to immigration process if we divorce?

If you're not a green card holder yet, divorce can end your eligibility if your case is based on marriage.

If you already have a conditional green card, you'll need to file Form I-751 with a waiver to remove conditions without your spouse.

For VAWA cases abuse victims, you can still apply for a green card independently even after divorce.

If your case is pending at USCIS, they'll likely deny it once the divorce is finalized unless you qualify under a waiver.
