If you are a green card holder, you cannot petition for your parents only U.S. citizens who are 21+ can do it.

File a separate Form I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative) for your mother and father. If your parent is outside the U.S., you’ll go through consular processing.

Parents are considered immediate relatives this means there is no waiting line once the I-130 is approved and documents are complete; they can apply for the immigrant visa right away.

Submit your birth certificate showing your name and your parent’s name. If you’re petitioning for your father and your parents weren’t married, you may need extra proof like legitimation or evidence of a relationship.
