Someone I know overstayed their visa by a few months before applying for asylum. Will this hurt their chances of approval? Thanks in advance.

Overstaying a visa doesn’t automatically disqualify you from asylum. I'd say what matters most is proving a genuine fear of persecution.

Honestly, I don't think overstaying a visa will automatically ruin their asylum case. I believe what matters most is proving a real fear of persecution.
