So my own problem is green card-related. I recently married a U.S. citizen, but my visa expires soon. How do I avoid falling out of status while waiting for my green card? Thanks in advance.

File Form I-485 (or Adjustment of Status if you like) before your visa expires. This allows you to stay legally while your green card application is processed. Consult an immigration attorney is never a bad idea though.

File Petition for Alien Relative and Adjustment of Status as soon as possible so there will be no problem
