My employer filed for my green card a year ago, and my priority date is now current. Can I apply for adjustment of status, or do I need to leave the U.S. for consular processing?

If your priority date is current, you can apply for adjustment of status (AOS) without leaving the U.S., provided you're already in a lawful status.

As long as you are physically present in the U.S. on a valid visa, you can file your AOS application and remain in the U.S.

The adjustment process allows you to stay while your green card application is processed.

If you're outside the U.S., you would need to go through consular processing to obtain your green card.
