Planning for higher education abroad has led me to seriously consider studying in the United States. Before taking concrete steps, I want to understand what the student visa process looks like, what schools expect from international applicants, and whether my nationality affects entry. Is El Salvador currently affected by any U.S. travel bans or restrictions that could impact my ability to study legally in the U.S.?

I don't think it is one of the banned countries

Get admission from a US university, then you can apply for a study visa with the required documents. Your nationality doesn't affect anything

El Salvador is not on any U.S. travel ban list, and Salvadoran nationals are eligible to apply for U.S. student visas. Your nationality alone does not prevent you from studying in the United States.

To study in the U.S., you’ll need admission from a SEVP-approved school, an I-20 form, and an F-1 student visa. You must also show strong academic intent, financial ability, and ties to your home country.
