I’m on L-1A and want to apply for a green card, do I need labor certification?

If you're on an L-1A visa, you do not need a PERM labor certification to apply for a green card.

No, they usually don’t. L-1A holders can qualify under the EB-1C green card category for multinational executives or managers, which doesn’t require labor certification. This means you can bypass the usual PERM process that other employment-based applicants must go through.

If you’re currently on an L-1A visa and planning to apply for a green card, you’re in a good position, you can generally avoid the labor certification (PERM) step.
