I'm applying for a Green Card through marriage, but my marriage is less than 2 years old. What are the implications?

You'll receive a conditional Green Card, valid for 2 years.

You'll need to provide evidence of a bona fide marriage.

If your marriage is under 2 years old, USCIS will grant you a “conditional green card” valid for 2 years instead of a permanent one.

To remove the conditions, you'll need to file Form I-751 jointly with your spouse.

Within the 90 days before your conditional green card expires, you and your spouse must file Form I-751 to remove the conditions.
