I'm an international student in the US on an F-1 visa. Can I change my major or transfer to a different school?

As an F-1 visa holder, you can change your major or transfer to a different school, but you'll need to notify your current school's international student office and obtain a new Form I-20 from your new school.

You'll also need to ensure that your new major or school is approved by the US Department of Homeland Security's Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP)
