I want too visit my sick mother back in home country, but I am in removal proceeding. Can I leave and come back again?

If you’re in removal proceedings, leaving the U.S. usually means you can’t return. Talk to an immigration attorney before making any travel plans.

Leaving the U.S. during removal proceedings typically results in a ban on reentry. I will advise speaking to an attorney.

The thing is if you leave the U.S. during removal proceedings, it will be considered self-deportation and so you may not be allowed to return.

Traveling abroad while in removal proceedings generally counts as abandoning your case and will bar reentry. Consult an immigration attorney before planning any trip.
