I have been in the US for 3 years on an H-1B. I recently got married to a US citizen. What are the steps to take to get a green card through my spouse?

Attorney

You need to file a marriage based petition + adjustment of status application + affidavit of support. Work authorization and travel document are optional.

I recommend filing all those these concurrently. There will be a finger print appointment + the possibility of an interview.

Wait times depend on many things including the amount of evidence you submit + the state from which you are filing.

I recommend hiring a professional.
