How does the U.S. citizenship process differ for refugees or asylum seekers, and what additional steps are involved?

Not sure there are any actual differences since both can apply for a green card after one year of status, then citizenship after 5yrs. They also both need to show they still qualify for protection.

If you're a refugee or have asylum, first you should get a green card after a year. Then, after 5 years or 4 years if asylum, you can apply for American citizenship. You’ll need to fill out some forms, do an interview, and pass background checks like everyone else, but you might have to show proof of your refugee or asylum status too.
