Can I get a green card after studying?

Studying in the U.S. on an F-1 visa does not lead directly to a green card, you'll need to change your status first.

If your degree is in a STEM field, you may be eligible for a 24-month OPT extension.

 If you find a U.S. employer, they may sponsor you for a work visa like H-1B and later help you apply for a green card.

If you marry a U.S. citizen or have an eligible family member, you may qualify for a family-based green card.
