If your DACA has expired, you can still file, but the process may be treated as an initial request rather than a renewal.

If your DACA expired less than one year ago, USCIS treats your application as a renewal, and you don’t need to resubmit all initial documents.

If your DACA lapses, your work permit (EAD) also becomes invalid. You cannot work legally until you receive a new one.

If it expired over a year ago, you must file as a new initial DACA request, even though new DACA requests are not currently being approved. This can delay your case.
