Normally, you file Form I-751 jointly with your spouse during the 90 days before your conditional green card expires.

If you're divorced, separated, or in an abusive relationship, you can request a waiver of the joint filing requirement.

You must still prove that your marriage was genuine at the time it began, even if it later ended or turned harmful.
