My visitor visa is valid for 5 yrs, why do I have to leave in 6 mnths?

It is a multiple entry visa which means you are supposed to come and go for brief periods

You are limited to stay six months per visit. It is to avoid residency

Because you can’t stay the entire 5yrs at once. The terms state that you can stay a maximum of 6months at a time.
