My visa was refused under section 221(g) and the officer asked for additional documents. Is this a denial, and how should I respond?

A refusal under section 221(g) is generally considered a temporary refusal pending additional information. It is not a final denial. The consulate is requesting further documentation or clarification before making a final decision. You should carefully follow the instructions provided, submit the requested materials promptly, and ensure all documents are complete and accurate.

Responding accurately and within the specified timeframe is essential to avoid unnecessary delays. Incomplete submissions can prolong the process. Once the consulate receives and reviews the additional documentation, it will either issue the visa or provide further instructions. Monitoring communication channels closely is important during this period.
