You may begin working only from the start date listed on your Employment Authorization Document (EAD). Employment must be directly related to your field of study and meet minimum hour requirements. Working before the authorized start date is not permitted. Carefully track your unemployment days, as exceeding the allowed limit during OPT can place you out of status.
