My asylum case was denied by USCIS and my case was sent to immigration court. I’m scared because I don’t know what happens next. Does this mean I’m getting deported?

A referral to immigration court does not mean automatic deportation. It means a judge will now review your asylum case from the beginning.

In court, you may be able to renew your asylum application and present more evidence. Some people also become eligible for other forms of relief while in court.

This is a serious stage of the process and having legal representation makes a big difference. Many people win their cases in court even after an initial denial.
