I’ve noticed my USCIS case status keeps updating late at night or very early in the morning, which makes me spiral a bit, so I’m curious if anyone knows whether these updates usually mean a real human looked at the case or if it’s just the system doing automated updates that don’t really mean progress.

This happens to a lot of people, and most of the time those late‑night or early‑morning updates are just automated system refreshes rather than an officer actively reviewing your case at that moment. USCIS batches updates and syncs data outside normal business hours, so a timestamp at 2am usually doesn’t signal real progress by itself. It’s understandable to overthink it, but those odd‑hour updates are very common and don’t usually mean anything good or bad on their own.
