I’m on an H-1B visa and just received a promotion with a higher salary and new job duties. Do I need to file an amended petition with USCIS?

Yes, if the new duties are substantially different from the original petition, an amendment is required.

If only salary changes but job role remains the same, an amendment might not be necessary.

Employers often file an amended H-1B to avoid risks of non-compliance.

Consulting an immigration attorney ensures the promotion doesn’t cause future visa issues.
