I’m from Mongolia and currently living in Arizona on a student visa. My parents are still back home, and I’ve been thinking about ways to bring them here to visit me for a while. They’ve never traveled to the U.S. before, and I’m not sure how difficult the process is for Mongolian citizens. What kind of visa should they apply for, and what can I do from my end to help make sure their application gets approved? I really just want them to visit me and see how I’m living here before I graduate.

Your parents can apply for a B-2 visitor visa, which is designed for tourism or short family visits. You can support their application by sending an invitation letter and proof of your legal status in the U.S. It also helps if they show strong ties to Mongolia, like jobs or property, to prove they’ll return.

For your parents to visit, they’ll need to apply for B-2 visitor visas at the U.S. Embassy in Ulaanbaatar. You can write a formal invitation letter explaining your relationship and the purpose of their trip. Include copies of your visa and school documents to strengthen their case. They must also demonstrate financial stability and intent to return home after their visit.

Your parents should apply for B-2 visitor visas, and you can support them by providing an invitation letter and your student documents. Their approval depends on proving strong ties to Mongolia and clear reasons for returning.
