I’m confused why my I‑130 moved to “actively reviewed” at midnight, does USCIS actually work those hours or is this just another weird system update?

Yeah USCIS throws out those midnight updates all the time, it’s just the system syncing in the background and not someone actually working on your case at that hour, so the “actively reviewed” status doesn’t mean anything special by itself and usually it’s just the tracker refreshing.
